Capable staff accountants and auditors advance to positions with more responsibilities by demonstrating their professional skills on the job. As entry-level accountants, their engagements involve working with an array of Firm clients that span a variety of industries.

Advancement to mid-level positions come within a couple years, and to more senior management positions as skill sets develop and management capabilities are demonstrated.

When employees are promoted to supervisor or manager, they’ve developed an area of specialization, such as a service niche or particular industry expertise. They may have been exposed to a variety of businesses in manufacturing, healthcare or international commerce.
