Eric Majchrzak is Freed Maxick's Director of Marketing. For two years in a row, (2011 and 2010), he was named one of accounting profession's "Top 100 Most Influential People" by the national trade publication, Accounting Today. He has 20 years of experience in developing results-oriented marketing strategies that generate organic growth, deepen client relationships and increase revenues. He joined Freed Maxick in 2003 and develops overall marketing communications strategy, including branding, business development opportunities, lead generation programs, public relations and industry niche marketing. He has helped guide his firm through two mergers.
Accounting Industry Leadership and Involvement
Eric is a current Board member of the national Association for Accounting Marketing. He is also a Past-Chairman of AAM’s website committee from 2007-2009 and a member of AAM's branding Task Force. He is a frequent speaker at various industry events and has been acknowledged as a progressive marketer in the field of social media, mobile marketing, digital marketing and search engine optimization. Eric is one of the accounting industries' leaders in the area of search engine optimization (SEO) and social media. He has been practicing SEO for nearly a decade. His efforts utilizing SEO in combination with social media as a means to generate leads have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars of new revenue for his firm.
Honors, Awards, Recognition
In September 2011, he was named one of accounting profession's "Top 100 Most Influential People" by the national trade publication, Accounting Today. Eric instructs CPE courses on behalf of the Accounting Today Institute and has helped the Institute develop a curriculum of courses related to social media. He was honored nationally as the “2006 Rookie Accounting Marketer of the Year” by the national Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM), where he currently serves as Board Member. In 2010, he won a national award from the Association for Accounting Marketing for the "Best Public Relations campaign". In March 2011, his Firm won Buffalo, NY's top Social Media Award, a Beta Award, as named by InfoTech Niagara. Freed Maxick was honored in May of 2011 by the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of Public Relations Society of America, winning a GOLD Excalibur Award for Social Media. Eric and His Firm have been named FInalist for the Rochester Chapter of the American Marketing Association's 'Marketer of the Year Award.' Eric has been named one of Buffalo's "10 People to Watch in 2010" by the reporters and editors of Buffalo Business First.
Conferences, Speaking Engagements
Eric has been a featured speaker at many major conferences inside and outside of the accounting profession. Some highlights of his speaking engagements include: June of 2011, Eric will be co-presenting a session on the subject of integrated marketing at the AICPA Practitioners' Tech Forum in Las Vegas. the SM2Day Conference 2009, a premier social media event in New York State that featured keynote speaker Chris Brogan. Eric was a speaker on the marketing masters panel at the "Winning-is-Everything Conference" in Vegas, Jan 2010. Eric was a panelist at Marketing Sherpa's national B2B Marketing Summit in San Francisco and Boston in October of 2010. Featured speaker at the 2011 Buffalo News Social Media Summit. 2011: Association for Accounting Marketing –Co-presented “Creating your Brand Using Social Media”.

Eric and/or his Firm's marketing initiatives has been profiled in dozens of media outlets and trades, including Buffalo Business First, Accounting Today, CPA Practice Management Forum, AAM MarkeTrends, AICPA’s Insider, Marketingsherpa.com, Mashable, Success Magazine and Chief Marketer Magazine. Feb 2010: Interviewed for Accounting Today Podcast –“Digital Twitter Billboard”. Oct 2010: Interviewed as guest on WCEO-HQ’s “CEO Hour” on topic of social media. Eric and his Firm were included as a featured social media case study in the book Social Media Strategies for professionals and Their Firms -authored by Michelle Golden and published in 2011 by John Wiley & Sons. Eric was published on the topic of SEO in CCH's CPA Practice Management Forum and has been profiled in several other media outlets and industry trades on the topic of social media, including Buffalo Business First and Accounting Today.
Background & Experience
He started his career in broadcast media sales, where he worked for ABC Radio, Clear Channel Radio and Infinity Broadcasting. He later joined a subsidiary of FleetBoston Financial, where he was responsible for implementing national marketing efforts, web-related initiatives and national events.
Other Professional Involvement
Eric is a founding member of the Upstate New York Merger & Acquisition Council, an organization that connects private equity firms, lenders and business owners and leaders for the purpose of enhancing deal flow and sharing information. Eric is also on the planning committee for the Pathways to Entrepreneurial Success Forum, in Rochester NY. Eric graduated from the State University College at Buffalo in 1991. Eric and his firm are members of the Leading Edge Alliance.
