Michael Russo, CPA is a director with Freed Maxick & Battaglia, CPAs, PC in the Rochester Practice Unit.  Formally, he was a founding partner in Bernardi and Russo, CPAs and served as the firm’s managing partner for several years. 

Michael concentrates his practice to individual and business taxation and business consulting areas, and counsels clients on tax strategies, planning, compliance and audit issues on both U.S., state and international tax matters.  He has represented clients in matters before the Internal Revenue Service and New York State Departments of Taxation and Labor.  In addition, he consults clients on business formation and profit enhancement matters, as well as compensation plan design.  

Michael graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, where he serves on the Tax Committee, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he serves as a speaker on tax matters.
