  • 4.3.12 BETA “Best Tech Culture”Award - Freed Maxick was recognized as a winner at InfoTech Niagara’s 12th Annual Buffalo Niagara Emerging Technology Awards (BETA), recognizing achievements and honoring the best and brightest individuals and organizations in the Western New York Tech Community. Freed Maxick took home the award for “Best Tech Culture,” honoring the organization that fosters a positive, encouraging, and productive work environment through the use of technology.


    3.12 Top 100 Recognition
    - Freed Maxick CPAs, P.C. has been named a 2012 top 100 accounting firm by Accounting Today, a leading provider of business news for the tax and accounting community. The annual report is the Silver Anniversary of the study and details debuted this month feature Freed Maxick CPAs positioned at #77 this year, moving up on the list from #79 in 2011. The Firm credits being named to the list once again due to its growth and expansion in the areas of Healthcare, Enterprise Risk Management, Real Estate, International Tax, and SEC practice areas. The Firm also identifies success stemming from five core firm values including the earned trust of clients, innovation within the accounting profession, taking client issues and business matters personally, hiring the best and the brightest high performance team employees, supporting the community and a true emphasis on communication.

    2.12 Director Named in Rochester Office
    - The firm announces that Samuel C. DiSalvo, CPA has joined the Rochester office as a Director in the Tax Practice. DiSalvo has over 27 years of tax experience consulting with both private and publicly held businesses and concentrates on corporate and joint venture matters, in addition to tax accounting areas such as ASC 740 and Sarbanes–Oxley. 

    “Sam’s extensive tax experience will help Freed Maxick clients identify opportunities and minimize risk.  We are excited to add his experience and insight to our roster of talented Directors, and know that he will bring value to our firm’s outlook and client base. Sam’s experience will be an asset to our Rochester office and we look forward to his leadership,” says Ronald J. Soluri, Sr., Managing Director.

    DiSalvo spent 15 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, spending time with their Washington national tax service program working with Fortune 500 and other companies to review and interpret legislative developments affecting specific issues and industries.  He holds a BS in Accounting and a Law Degree from the University at Buffalo, is a licensed certified public accountant in New York State and a member of the New York State Bar.

    Freed Maxick CPAs, P.C. acquires McGladrey’s Buffalo, NY non-attest tax and consulting assets
    Freed Maxick CPAs, P.C. has completed the acquisition of McGladrey & Pullen, LLP’s Buffalo, NY non-attest tax and consulting assets, reuniting those assets under a traditional CPA firm providing assurance, tax and consulting services. Effective immediately, the combined operations will be named Freed Maxick CPAs, P.C. (“Freed Maxick”). Freed Maxick will continue to access expanded national and global services through membership in the McGladrey Alliance, a premier affiliation of independent accounting and consulting firms in the United States with more than 90 members in 42 states and Puerto Rico.

    According to Ronald J. Soluri, Sr., CPA, Managing Director of Freed Maxick, “We are pleased to deliver our services through a traditional CPA firm structure. With shared clients, our relationship with McGladrey has been, and will continue to be, very important. Our clients will continue to receive the same high-level service through the same client engagement teams.”

    11.7.11 Freed Maxick Launches Google+ Page
    - Freed Maxick announced that it has launched a corporate page on Google’s social network site, Google+. The page, located at http://gplus.to/FreedMaxickCPAs, will provide the Firm’s various communities access to a steady stream of the latest tax, business tips and tools. Primarily, the Firm will use Google + to help serve closely-held entrepreneurial businesses through its Enterprise Advisory Group.
