
Stephen Kishel is a Principal in the Healthcare Consulting Practice of Freed Maxick. He has been with the Firm since 2015 and has almost 30 years of experience serving the healthcare industry. Steve specializes in leading transformational initiatives and implementing system-wide operational imperatives. He has significant experience in clinical laboratory operations and consolidation of hospital programs and possesses strong analytical and technical knowledge with deploying Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Steve led system-wide strategy and deployment of performance improvement initiatives for a $1 billion healthcare system comprised of four acute care hospitals, ambulatory surgery center, regional laboratory, primary care services, and a long-term care network. Most recently, he led the opening of a medical institute and closure of a hospital through integrating staff and programs onto a medical campus. He provided leadership and direction on key performance improvement initiatives such as LOS and utilization reduction, clinical laboratory consolidation, supply chain, clinic consolidations and EHR implementation and optimization that have significantly impacted the bottom line.
Steve is a certified Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma and a Master Change Agent through GH Healthcare.
Steve previously served as a member on the Board of Directors for the Health Sciences Charter School in Buffalo NY, and is currently an active member of his community.
