I am very proud to announce that the Freed Maxick marketing team has recently been honored with distinctive industry awards at the Association for Accounting Marketing’s 2011 AAM Summit in Chicago! Myself, Eric Majchrzak (@FreedMaxickCPAs) and Amy Wheaton were all present for the annual conference, bringing together accounting marketing professionals from across the country.

Not only did we learn a ton, and interact with our peers, but we took home the top awards at the June 9th Gala event in the Public Relations and Website design categories, for our digital Facebook billboard and www.freedmaxickcareers.com recruiting website projects. In addition, Freed Maxick’s e-Marketing Communications Specialist (that’s me!!), was awarded the 2011 “Rookie of the Year” designation, recognizing the achievements of AAM’s newest marketers.

Rookie of the Year award winners are distinguished for demonstrating excellence within the accounting profession and the AAM organization, showing creativity and initiative within their firm, and providing valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of their firm and marketing practices. Apparently some people think that I am a phenomenal strategist and project leader, and a valued part of the marketing team. I am proud to have helped the firm achieve many “firsts,” including a Twitter-fed newspaper called the ”Freed Maxick Monitor”, mobile Smartphone Quick Response (QR) initiative and other public and community relations projects.

The Summit was pretty awesome and it was not only a learning experience, but a chance to check out the city of Chicago, which I had never had the chance to see before. I loved it! The Miracle Mile was amazing, had the chance to get a behind the scenes look at hip t-shirt company Threadless (www.threadless.com), and even get face to face with the famous “bean” in Millenium Park. What a great trip!
