On Wednesday, May 16, over 300 volunteers from all over Genesee County took part in the United Way Day of Caring. This was the fifth annual Day of Caring and the event continues to grow each year. In total, 40 local businesses and organizations sent volunteers to 25 work sites throughout Genesee County. Freed Maxick had 9 volunteers from their Batavia Office (Sarah Haynes, Sarah Leavy, Erica Spezzano, Amanda Taylor, Nancy Jackson, Deb Tillotson, Nicole Ryan, Sandy Pratt and Jonathan Tretter) who took part in the event. The 10 volunteers from Freed Maxick split up into two groups. One group went to the Boy Scouts and the other group went to Genesee Mental Health Association where both groups helped paint.

This was a wonderful event that not only brought co-workers together, but also helped everyone involved network and learn about the various organizations and charities that Genesee County has to offer. Freed Maxick really stresses giving back to the community and this is one of the many events that the firm participates in that display this. Everyone involved is already looking forward to next year when we can continue to improve and strengthen our community.
