I first visited the Darwin Martin House as a guest of local law firm Hurwitz and Fine’s business reception. It rained that evening but the tour was fantastic. Being the last person on earth to be called “artsy,” I was amazed at what they did to renovate this Frank Lloyd Wright house, right here in Buffalo, NY in the Parkside neighborhood of the city.

You have to visit! I have been there two times in the last two months bringing relatives along with me that were visiting from out of town.  What an absolute gem we have right here in our own backyard. Who knew?

It is an amazing story and to consider this was all built in the early 1900’s. A great example of some of the beautiful and historic architecture right here in Western New York. Definitely worth the visit.  Great gift shop also. In fact, I purchased my tickets online and got $5 off at the gift shop!

Check out this gem in greater detail on the website below, and consider visiting some of Buffalo’s great architecture spots when you have some time to spare. Exploring your community and getting to know its history is a great way to find work/life balance.
