Freed Maxick employees are encouraged to give back to their community through various volunteer opportunities. One of the past volunteer opportunities the firm offered was the chance to help out Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy clean the Rumsey Woods area of Delaware Park, just north of downtown Buffalo, NY. It was a great chance for our employees to get their hands a little dirty, put a little elbow grease into their volunteer work, and enjoy the outdoors while cleaning up and clearing out non native and invasive plants.
There is another chance to volunteer coming up this month, so consider getting involved and getting to know Buffalo’s local public parks system! On Saturday October 27th from 9am-12noon Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy will be planting 150 trees in Delaware Park, as well as raking leaves and putting flower beds to rest.
The Conservancy is also currently in the midst of their “Fall Tool Drive” as well. The organization needs shovels, metal garden rakes and heavy duty iron rakes. If you would like to donate those items it would really help the Conservancy. Keep in mind that the organization will accept any garden tool in good working order! Have anything at home in your garage or garden shed you don’t use any longer? Consider donating it, or going the extra mile and making a new tool purchase to donate to the Conservancy.
The check-in location for the volunteer event is at the Juicery Building in Delaware Park.

Please mind the parking signs and keep in mind that it is encouraged that you RSVP if you would like to take part! Email email@example.com to RSVP as a volunteer.
