After a long, very hot summer I think most Western New Yorkers appreciate the beautiful fall we’ve been experiencing.  As much as I absolutely love the hot weather, there’s something about the onset of this season that gets me in the mood for cozy sweaters, apple picking, pumpkin farms, and playing in leaves!  Our family takes every opportunity to get outside and enjoy the fresh air before the cold (but fun!) Buffalo winter arrives.

We’re so fortunate to have this experience every year.  As enticing as Florida weather sounds to me at times, I would truly miss the change of seasons.  I absolutely love the smell of leaves in the air and spectacular views where ever you go.

Most of us don’t give it much thought, but did you ever wonder what causes leaves to change their color?  The Buffalo Museum of Science has a great explanation. Check it out!
