Fall is planting time and Buffalo Olmsted Conservancy has two weekend events for planting!
On Saturday, November 16 from 10am-2pm this Saturday! (sorry for the short notice, the original planting group had to reschedule!) The organization and its volunteers will be planting trees and shrubs as a part of a long term restoration plan. The group will be planting at the North Shore of Hoyt Lake from 10am-2pm. They will need 30-40 volunteers for this major planting event. This is a family friendly and all-ages event! Parking is along Rumsey Road and then you must walk along Delaware Avenue to the work site. Please bring shovels if you have them. This is a rain or shine event!
On Saturday November 23rd from 10am-1pm the organization will be planting 10 large trees in Prospect Park (corner of Prospect Avenue and Niagara Street) and need 10-15 people to assist with this planting. This is a rain or shine event!
Without the organization’s volunteers, they could not do all that they do. Consider getting involved and lending a hand! If you cannot make it yourself but know of individuals that would like them to attend please help them spread the word!
