Healthcare Consulting Analyst


We are excited to offer full-time remote or hybrid opportunities for highly skilled Analysts in our thriving Healthcare Consulting Practice (HCP). Our HCP has over 30 team members and works with a wide range of providers, including large integrated delivery systems, community hospitals, physician practices, long-term care facilities and hospice and palliative care providers.  The ideal candidate(s) will have experience in one or more key domains such as healthcare finance, operations, reimbursement, clinical operations, revenue cycle operations and/or business intelligence experience.

Direct experience working within a provider setting is highly preferred for this position. This position requires high degree of collaboration and engagement with internal HCP team members and client stakeholders. This is a non-technology based position with preference to candidates who have served in roles such a financial analyst, business analyst, business intelligence analyst, decision support analyst, accountant / auditor, operations analyst, and/or revenue cycle analyst should consider application.

 

About The Position 

The Healthcare Consulting Analyst will be responsible for supporting client engagements in one or more service areas within our Healthcare Consulting Practice.  This includes consulting engagements focused on organizational transformation, performance improvement, revenue cycle, reimbursement, finance and /or accounting outsourced support and business intelligence / data analytics services. Our HCP analysts are exposed to a wide variety of engagements and are provided tremendous opportunities to learn and advance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives to understand objectives and the analytical support required to achieve these objectives
  • Review and interpret information including financial statements and other statistics/metrics to assess current and historical financial performance while identifying improvement targets relative to best practice performance and benchmarks
  • Reviews various datasets including patient encounter data, procedure level detail, billing statements / transactions, accounts receivable data, claim denial data,
  • Manipulate and analyze large data sets while collaborating with subject matter experts to interpret analysis to identify observations and provide recommendations
  • Identify and implement strategies to effectively validate data inputs and analysis results to ensure integrity
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop detailed project work plans to execute against initiatives identified from data driven analysis
  • Develop data models and tools to support on-going performance monitoring of implemented initiatives
  • Assesses current state processes while making recommendations for enhancements including re-designing and documenting supporting workflows and processes
  • Prepare quality deliverables, including the participation and support of presentations to client stakeholders
  • Identify and escalate project issues and risks to engagement leaders regarding scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics or related field with 2+ years of professional experience in a healthcare finance, operations, revenue cycle, reimbursement, business intelligence or consulting role
  • Masters in Business Administration, Masters in Healthcare Administration or Masters in Data Analytics preferred but not required
  • Experience as an analyst within a healthcare provider setting (hospital, nursing home, physician practice, behavioral health, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including ability to interpret financial statements
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex business issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly changing environment
  • Strong project management fundamentals
  • Ability to stay up to date with industry trends, market challenges and emerging technologies that could impact the organization’s performance.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, look ups, etc.)
  • BI software experience preferred (SQL, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Relevant certifications a plus (CPA, Six Sigma, CBAP, PMP, etc.)
  • Ability to travel to client locations based on needs and work effectively in a virtual/remote setting
