As An Internal Staff Auditor / Consultant with Freed Maxick, you will:

We provide a complete onboarding experience which includes orientation and training to jump start your career.
Your Performance Advisor will meet with you regularly to make sure all of your questions are answered. You’ll be assigned a “buddy” to help you with those first few days and weeks when you’re transitioning to your new role.
You’ll perform auditing and consulting services under the direction of our talented Senior Accountants, Managers, Senior Managers, Principals and Directors. Expect to have regular contact with our Directors.

You’ll operate as part of a successful team, working on challenging engagements with clients in a wide variety of industries: healthcare, manufacturing, government, municipalities, agribusiness, distribution, retail, financial services, real estate, private equity, etc. You can become a specialist in the area that appeals to you.
KEEP YOUR TECHNICAL SKILLS SHARP!
In addition to providing continuing professional education (CPE) we provide soft skill training as part of our EARN initiative. EARN (Employee Advancement & Retention Network) was created to determine and meet the needs of our diverse employee base. We are not a “once size fits all” Firm.
Employees are offered the opportunity to develop professionally through seminars and local, regional and self-study courses. In-house training programs are given regularly which cover a wide range of subjects, including those applicable to a specific industry or discipline. Guest speakers provide a fresh perspective.
Freed Maxick also has a full-time Training and Development Specialist who will meet with you regularly to make sure you are receiving the training you want and need.

Our full-time Career Coach will not only provide strategies to you for passing the CPA exam, or obtaining other certifications, but also help guide you along your individual career path. Regular evaluations and performance conversations provide you with the candid feedback you need to succeed. We’ll cover your technical skills, teamwork, client focus, productivity and dependability. Areas for development will be discussed and together, appropriate plans for focus will be determined. We know that everyone learns differently, so your individual goals are established just for you. Clear direction and guidance will help you advance to the next level!

STAFF ACCOUNTANT POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in Accounting, Information Systems or Internal Audit (150 hours required for those who wish to pursue their CPA)
- The desire to pursue certification – CIA, CPA, CISA, CISSA, PMP, etc.
- Familiarity with COSO and SOX internal control requirements
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills; solid organizational skills
- Client satisfaction driven attitude
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately nationally and internationally approximately 50%; a significant amount within the WNY region
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.3; minimum GPA of 3.3 in major course of study
