Manager – Technology Risk & Consulting, Healthcare Services

Freed Maxick CPAs, P.C., a Top 100 Firm in the United States, has an immediate opportunity for a manager level resource to serve a unique role within our growing Healthcare Services team.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has experience in IT Risk Management and Project Management
  • Has IT Auditing Skills
  • Possesses excellent client-facing skills and strong technical, verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Is able to successfully manage multiple projects
  • Has a desire to focus primarily on the Health Care industry with flexibility to support other industries as a secondary role when needed
  • Will be responsible for managing, coaching and mentoring staff

Position Summary:

This resource will support firm client engagements from an IT Risk Management perspective, performing and managing IT risk assessments and audit activities over the IT Environment (network, applications, and databases) of our healthcare clients. This individual will have the opportunity to manage and deliver a variety of IT Risk consulting services including:

  • Information Security/Cybersecurity
  • IT Change Management
  • Identity Access Management
  • Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Planning
  • Third Party / Vendor Risk Management
  • IT Governance, Transformation / Strategy Analysis


  • Engagement planning and scoping while managing a team of resources on the execution of IT audits for healthcare providers (i.e. health systems / hospitals and nursing homes)
  • Identifying and evaluating complex business and technology risks, internal controls that mitigate risk and related opportunities for internal control improvement
  • Providing project management support to supervise, deliver and monitor quality of multiple, simultaneous IT audit engagements
  • Prepare and present deliverables to both internal and client management

Education & Experience:

  • BS in MIS, computer science, accounting information systems, IT audit or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT audit experience
  • Supervisory / management experience
  • Project management (PMP) certification a plus; CISA and/or CISSP preferred
  • Strong understanding of IT Security Concepts (Network / Cyber Security), IT General Controls, Disaster Recovery, IT Change Management and IT Vendor Risk Management
  • High level understanding of best practice internal control frameworks and industry regulations (i.e. COBIT, NIST, HIPAA Security)
  • Healthcare IT Experience preferred
  • Ability and willingness for travel (30-40%)
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Working knowledge of core healthcare platforms (e.g. EPIC, CERNER, Meditech, etc.) is a plus
