Jenny is a Director in Freed Maxick’s Enterprise Advisory Services Practice and focuses on serving clients in the manufacturing, professional services, technology development, and not-for-profit sectors. Jenny has expertise in complex tax research and analysis and has helped clients claim valuable tax credits and reduce federal and state tax liabilities through strategic planning.

In addition to being closely involved with her clients, Jenny is dedicated to the training and mentoring of new staff at Freed Maxick and is actively involved in Firm initiatives focusing on employee satisfaction and coordination of successful Firm events.

Adam Poole, CPA

Adam is a Director in Freed Maxick’s Enterprise Advisory Services Practice, providing in-depth reviews, consulting, outsourced accounting, and detailed recommendations for improvements in internal controls for a diverse client base. Adam provides CFO level services to multiple clients and also manages back-office accounting functions. He specializes in small to medium sized businesses as well as family-owned business across multiple industries.

Adam is active in the community, serving on the board of directors for two local not-for-profit organizations and is also a member of a local small business association. He also participates in the development of materials for onboarding new hires at Freed Maxick.

Cara Rossi, CPA

Cara is a Director in Freed Maxick’s Tax Practice specializing in ASC 740, tax consulting and planning, and tax return preparation for clients in the manufacturing, regulated, and general service industries. Cara has significant experience assisting her clients in the area of tax compliance, including the preparation and review of federal, state and international tax filings. She successfully supports clients through Federal and state audits and notices. As a leader within our ASC 740 specialty group, Cara has authored numerous thought leadership pieces regarding issues affecting her clients.

Cara is also heavily involved in our Employee Advancement and Retention Network (E.A.R.N.) program, through which she provides mentoring and development opportunities for employees both personally and professionally.

Jonathan Tretter, CPA

Jonathan is a Director in Freed Maxick’s Enterprise Advisory Services Practice, focusing on taxation and planning for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships and LLCs, and high-net worth individuals. He also has specialty knowledge of federal and state tax credits and incentives, methods of accounting, UNICAP 263A, estate and business succession planning, along with tangible property and cost recovery. Jonathan has been a leader in the Firm’s response to federal legislation surrounding the CARES Act, including the Paycheck Protection Program and the Employee Retention Credit.

Jonathan is devoted to employee enrichment and is heavily involved in his community. In 2017, he was recognized as a Buffalo Business First “30 Under 30” award recipient.

Shauna VanRemmen, CPA

Shauna is a Director in Freed Maxick’s Tax Practice, spending significant time in the Firm’s flow-through taxation service area, assisting companies in preparation of their income tax returns in accordance with their operating agreements. She has developed a broad background in tax planning, consulting, and tax return preparation for S Corporations and Partnerships in the real estate, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, and professional services industries.

Shauna makes it a priority to remain informed on tax law developments. She also spends significant time as a Performance Advisor and mentor to her colleagues, helping them pass the CPA exam, navigate demanding schedules, and more importantly promoting self-care and work-life balance.
